Stalke Galleri 1987-1992

Stalke was founded in 1987 in Copenhagen, and from the early beginning, we have exhibited several generations of Danish and international artists such as William Anastasi, Lawrence Weiner, Joseph Kosouth, Les Levine, Dove Bradshaw, William Anthony, and from Denmark Albert Mertz, Thorbjørn Lausten, Mogens Møller, Torben Ebbesen, Margrete Sørensen and Thomas Bang just to mention few. They have all grown up from the generation of Conceptual Art or Minimal Art in the 60s and 70s.
Examples of representatives of the younger generation of artists we has exhibited are Christoph Draeger, Manfred Pernice, Gunter Reski, Marcel Dcama, Susan Walder, Michael Coughlan and from Denmark we has exhibited in the late 80s and 90s are Nils Erik Gjerdevik, Hans Peterson, Eva Larsson, Peter Rössell, Lars Bent Petersen, Frans Jacobi, Kaj Nyborg, Nikolaj Recke, Jes Brinch and Olafur Eliasson from his real beginning – Many of the artist was in the main group of the gallery "BAGHUSET" which became the stamping ground for young conceptually minded artist in Denmark and from the Danish Academy where  Albert Mertz was professor and the strongest inspiration for this new hardcore generation and many become famous internationally and many of this artist was important part of the history of Stalke also.
