Stalke Galleri in Kr. Sonnerup is very proud to present the group show,
MultiAnima, curated by Bella Angora, featuring 6 artists from Vienna.
I think, therefore I am? Does the mind define the being, does awareness
upgrade the form of existence? Diverse and at the same time interlinked
and dependent are six female approaches on expressing, elaborating and
researching alternative strategies of being. Coexisting life forms
evolve permanently according to individual needs and demanding external
influences. In an ever-ongoing process characteristics emerge, modify
and reproduce for the benefit of collective survival.
MultiAnima is an experimental area displaying and researching social
strategies, questioning traditional behaviours, swapping one system for
the other, altering and expanding biological material and discussing
various possibilities of animate coexistence on the same level.
Bella Angora, Alexandra Berlinger, Susanne Eybl, Judith Fegerl, Barbara
Husar and Debora Sengl held a ten weeks residency in Copenhagen. Living
together and coming to terms with each other is reflected upon within
the organic development of this exhibition.
Bella Angora's artistic approach to a life without the need to fight is
a challenge to herself. The artwork itself becomes influential upon the
artist and creates a milieu where cognitive patterns are potentially
changed. Bella Angora will show her videoinstallation St.ART from 2008
and drawings.
Alexandra Berlinger disintegrates physical and social principles in
order to insert space inbetween - open to conflicts, confrontations and
discharge of sclerotic pressures. Alexandra Berlinger will present
drawings made during her residency in Copenhagen.
Susanne Eybl's meticulous drawings are redirecting the line of vision
to discover mutuality between humans, animals and alternative life
forms. Susanne Eybl is currently living in Copenhagen, and has twice
exhibited through Stalke.
Judith Fegerl's hybrid objects and systems are developing new skills
due to their technological mutation, struggling to meet expectations
and find themselves trapped within the autistic process of an infinite
calculation. Judith Fegerl will introduce the Danish audience to a
floor object as well as a wall object. The artist has just been awarded
the Commendatory Award for Fine Arts, Lower Austria 2008, and has also
been selected for a 6 months residency in NY.
Barbara Husar is the owner of a goat flock in the Sinai desert and a
cattle herd in Denmark. Her multi-sensual focus broaches the issue of
gregariousness, mechanisms of communication and umbilical cords. Husar
is creating a tent-installation in front of Stalke Galleri, and will
also invite the audience to participate in a performance at the
opening.
In drawings, paintings and sculptures Deborah Sengl reveals
cross-species camouflage strategies. Skin itself seems to be a shell
concealing an alternative identity. Deborah Sengl will be showing her
well known drawings Brand Ladies with a special focus on the strongest
Danish brands for the group show in Denmark.
The opening will be on Saturday 22. November from 1 – 5 pm. We look forward to welcoming you.
