TWO-FACED REALITY
The works presented in Stalke Gallery are drawings/collages from the years 2007/2008.
Within my work I am creating a world of contrasts that are colliding in an almost painful way. On one hand because the visual expressions of the drawings is reminding us of a nearly childish naivety, on the other hand, because this naivety is threatened by the thematic content of my work, which is mostly presented in a sarcastic manner.
Every single drawing contains a tough battle between idealized dreams and illusions of the "good" in our world on one hand and portrayed situations of western every day life that has the potential to bring us back to the hard reality on the other.
