In 2014, Stalke Galleri, in collaboration with the family of Gunnar Örn, released a series of Artstamp editions as a posthumous tribute to the long-standing and significant partnership between the artist and the gallery. Conceived as a gesture of honor and remembrance, the series is now part of ARTSTAMP.DK’s permanent collection.
Gunnar Örn occupied a central position within Nordic contemporary art, with a practice defined by gestural abstraction and a symbolically charged visual language. His work consistently explored the relationship between humanity, nature, and spirituality. The four stamps extend this visual vocabulary into miniature format, encapsulating his lifelong artistic endeavor: to merge the bodily and the spiritual in images imbued with mythological resonance and existential depth.
The stamp series is titled Link to a Memory, referencing Gunnar Örn’s final exhibition at Stalke Gallery in 2007. As such, it serves both as a concrete memorial and as a poetic threshold between artwork and remembrance, between individual legacy and collective memory
