thorp -artstamp

Since 2009, Stalke has collaborated with Thorbjørn Lausten to produce a series of Artstamps that extend Lausten’s long-standing engagement with perception, systems, energy, and light. The first stamps emerged as a natural continuation of his artistic practice, in which geometric forms, visual structures, and coded systems serve as frameworks for deeper processes of insight and recognition.

The Artstamp series condenses Lausten’s complex visual universe into a small, precise format. Here, art and communication intersect—an area Lausten has explored through installations, data visualizations, and drawings. In the stamp format, his interest in space, light, and system thinking takes on a new dimension, emphasizing reproducibility and distribution as conceptual elements.

The production of Artstamps with Lausten builds on a collaboration that began in 1987 with his first exhibition at Stalke Galleri. The ideas and strategies that have shaped Lausten’s practice over decades are distilled here into a concentrated form—defined by clarity, precision, and conceptual depth.
